Drunk Driver Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Erlanger Police Officer
On March 7, 2013, Kent Jackson, 58, of Independence, KY, pled guilty to 2nd Degree Assault and DUI for striking a marked Erlanger Police car that was stopped on Turkeyfoot Road with its emergency lights activated. Erlanger Police Sgt. Mike Leming suffered injuries in the crash that occurred November 25, 2012. Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Rob Sanders is recommending a 5 year prison sentence for Jackson who has no prior record. Final sentencing is scheduled for April 8, 2013 at 9am before Kenton Circuit Judge Gregory Bartlett. After several months off work recovering from his injuries, Sgt. Leming has returned to limited duties.
