Fort Mitchell man sentenced to 10 years for possession, distribution of child pornography
COVINGTON, Ky. — Kenton Circuit Judge Kathleen Lape sentenced Kristopher Eric Crawford, 44, of Ft. Mitchell, KY, to 10 years in prison yesterday. Crawford previously pled guilty to two counts of Distribution of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Child and two counts of Possession of Matter Portraying a Sexual Performance by a Child in September. Crawford was also ordered to register as a sexual offender for the rest of his life.
Crawford was arrested May 21, 2019, at his home by Kenton County Police after an investigation by Detective Brian Jones revealed more than 200 images and 60 videos of child pornography in Crawford’s Tumblr account. The same account also had “selfies” of Crawford mixed among the images. Jones began his investigation after a cyber tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children indicated the Tumblr account was being used to share child pornography.
Assistant Commonwealth’s Attorney Emily Arnzen, who prosecuted the Crawford case, said: “It’s scary how many child predators live among us and we’re proud to partner with Kenton County Police in removing this one from our community for the next decade.” Arnzen is the chief prosecutor of cybercrimes against children in the Kenton County Commonwealth’s Attorney Office. “Sadly, we have dozens more cases just like this one,” said Arnzen, “but we’ll be seeking lengthy prison sentences in every one.”
